Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive [Directive 2011/61/EU]


    Directive 2011/61 EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 8 June 2011 on Alternative Investment Fund Managers (also referred to as AIFMD) comes into force on 22 July 2013. The Authority is accepting applications for the licencing of Alternative Investment Fund Managers (also referred to as AIFMs). The Authority is making available to prospective applicants and existing Licence Holders the regulatory regime which will be applicable to AIFMs, namely the Investment Services Act and all subsidiary legislation issued in terms of the Act as a result of the transposition and implementation of the AIFMD. Furthermore, all the revised Investment Services Rules are also being made available together with additional guidance which is being issued by the Authority.
